Connect to KnowHow Memory

KnowHow Memory keeps your company's knowledge for your AI agents. Add this MCP server URL to your agent host:

Who can connect

You can connect if you are an active member of the Organization that uses this server and your account has exactly one verified email address in the knowhow.app domain.

When you sign in, select that Organization and approve the requested access.

Set up your host

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop (custom connector)

  1. In Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Customize, then Connectors. Select +, then Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner first adds the connector in Organization settings, Connectors.
  2. Enter the name KnowHow Memory and the URL https://memory.knowhow.app/mcp. Select Add.
  3. Select Connect on the new connector. Sign in, select the Organization and approve the access.
  4. In a chat, select the + button, then Connectors, and turn on KnowHow Memory. A connector that you add in Claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop.

Claude Code

  1. Run this command: 
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user knowhow-memory https://memory.knowhow.app/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code, enter /mcp, select knowhow-memory and select Authenticate.
  3. In the browser, sign in, select the Organization and approve the access.

Codex

  1. Run these commands: 
    codex mcp add knowhow-memory --url https://memory.knowhow.app/mcp
codex mcp login knowhow-memory
  2. In the browser, sign in, select the Organization and approve the access.
  3. Start a new Codex session.

ChatGPT developer mode

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. Availability can depend on your account and your workspace policy.
  2. Open ChatGPT Plugins at chatgpt.com/plugins and select the plus button. Enter the name KnowHow Memory and the MCP server URL https://memory.knowhow.app/mcp, choose OAuth, and create the app.
  3. Sign in, select the Organization and approve the access.
  4. In a chat, choose Developer mode from the Plus menu and select KnowHow Memory.

Troubleshooting

When a sign-in fails, the error message gives the reason and a request ID. Find the reason below.

The sign-in did not select the Organization that uses this server.
Disconnect KnowHow Memory in your host, connect again and select the Organization when you sign in.
You are not an active member of the Organization that uses this server.
Ask an Organization admin for an invitation. Connect again after you accept it.
Your account needs exactly one verified email address in the knowhow.app domain.
Make sure that your account has exactly one verified email address in the knowhow.app domain, then connect again.
KnowHow Memory cannot check the sign-in now.
Try again shortly.

When you ask for help, give the request ID from the error message to your KnowHow administrator.
